LETTER: Endorsements from former mayoral candidate

Monday, March 29, 2010 | 8:07 p.m. CDT; updated 4:27 p.m. CDT, Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I ran for Mayor in 2004 and 2007 and received about 25 percent of the vote each time. I presented a fairly comprehensive platform of issues, ideas and goals to guide Columbia into a bright future.

Some, but not enough, progress has been made on that platform. I am not running for mayor this time, but I encourage all those voters (about 3,000) who supported me in 2004 and/or 2007 to mark their ballots in 2010 for Sid Sullivan for Mayor of Columbia.

I also encourage voters in the Third and Fourth Wards to mark their ballots for Karl Skala and Tracy Greever-Rice, respectively. I know and trust these candidates – their ideas, their values, their hearts. Vote for them. They will make you proud to be citizens of Columbia.

John G. Clark was a mayoral candidate in 2004 and 2007.
