When it comes to being a qualified civil servant, there is no one more qualified than Karl Skala.
I admire his vision of an open and accessible city government for every citizen, not just the wealthy few. He is always available to see constituents when he can and holds regular “office hours” before city council meetings. His encyclopedic knowledge of city governance is unmatched, but he is always open to new ideas and comes prepared to discuss any issue or concern.
As for his opponent's assertion that attending national conferences is a waste of city money, let me say this: Not only did Karl stay under the city's travel allowances, he brought back a wealth of information that saved the city ten's of thousands of dollars in consulting fees.
Let's keep a good thing going. Vote for Karl Skala, April 6.
