Hazardous Waste Facility opens Saturday

COLUMBIA — Columbia's Household Hazardous Waste Facility opens for the season Saturday, according to a news release.

Residents may take their hazardous materials — including oil, paint, cleaning products, antifreeze and other unwanted chemicals — to the facility between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month through November.

Commercial waste is not accepted.

The facility is located at 1313 Lakeview Ave.

For more information, call the Solid Waste Division at 874-6291. A list of waste accepted is available on the division's Web site.
