ROCHEPORT — A Rocheport man was found dead in Moniteau Creek shortly after family members reported him missing Saturday morning.

James Grossman, 88, was first reported missing around 10:30 a.m., said Sgt. James Perkins of the Boone County Sheriff's Department. Family members later called 911 again to report that they had found Grossman in Moniteau Creek near the 300 block of Columbia Street in Rocheport.

Boone County Fire Protection District water rescuers recovered Grossman's body from the water 20 minutes after he was first reported missing.
