MOUNTAIN VIEW— A man drowned while trying to help someone who fell into a river in southern Missouri.

The Missouri State Water Patrol says the body of 42-year-old Jackson Bogart of Mountain View was recovered Sunday.

The patrol said he was walking along the shoreline of the Jacks Fork River on Saturday night when someone fell into the water.

Bogart and two other people got into the river to help. Bogart was swept away by a strong current. The other people made it out of the water.
