Flea markets starting on Missouri State fairgrounds

SEDALIA — Flea markets will start soon on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.

The Sedalia Democrat reported that the first flea market is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17. Flea markets also are planned on the third Saturday of the months of May and June.

There will be no flea markets in July and August because of the state fair. Organizers will evaluate the success of the event before determining whether to continue hosting them in September, October and November.

Plans call for the flea market to be set up in the Agriculture Building on the fairgrounds.

Organizers are seeking vendors interested in hawking crafts, antiques, jewelry, tools, garage sale items, art, books and even produce and baked goods.
