Suspect dies after chase with police in St. Louis County

UNIVERSITY CITY — A suspect is dead after a police chase in St. Louis County.

The chase began late Monday in St. Ann. It ended in University City when the car being chased struck a parked tractor-trailer.

Two suspects were in the car being chased. One died and one was injured. Their names have not been released.

St. Ann police said the incident began when an officer tried to stop the car for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and a chase began. Police said a records check indicated the car had been stolen.

The St. Ann officer involved in the chase is on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
