Video and Slideshow: "Tons of Trucks" fill Cosmopolitan Park

Thursday, April 8, 2010 | 11:57 a.m. CDT

Dan and Dusti Mitchell brought their two children, Cyler and Sidney, to enjoy Wednesday night’s Tons of Trucks event at Cosmopolitan Park. Cyler, 2, is shown playing around on the fire trucks and other vehicles while his parents and 6-month-old sister follow him around. Columbia Parks and Recreation Superintendent Karen Ramey also explains how the event impacts kids.
Sounds of horns and sirens filled Cosmopolitan Park as the 2010 Tons of Trucks event opened up to the public on Wednesday. Children were able to climb into the drivers seat of trucks ranging from backhoes and ambulances to a SWAT vehicle. The event was sponsored by Columbia Parks and Recreation and Parents as Teachers.
