COLUMBIA — Columbia Police were seeking two suspects Thursday on suspicion of sexual offenses, Mark A. Whitworth, 47, and William L. Palmer, 18.
Whitworth is white and 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighs 210 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, according to a news release from police.
Public Information Officer Jessie Haden said Whitworth was supposed to turn himself in this week. Although police have been unable to locate him, they believe he is in Columbia. He is being sought on charges of:
- One count of deviate sexual assault
- One count of sodomy
- Two counts of first-degree statutory rape
- Two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy
- One count of incest
- One count of first-degree child molestation
The bond on Whitworth's warrant is $450,000.
Palmer is also a suspect. His last known address is 749 Demaret Drive. He is wanted for:
- One count of statutory sodomy
- One count of statutory rape
Palmer and Skylar L. McClanahan, who is currently in the Boone County Jail, are charged in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl while she was sleeping at a family friend's house March 31, according to the release. McClanahan was arrested April 7.
