Rock Bridge soccer team 2-1 at Springfield tournament

The Rock Bridge girls soccer team won its bracket of the Kickapoo Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The Bruins beat Parkview 3-0 on Friday, then on Saturday lost to Glenview 3-2 in overtime before beating Jackson 2-0.

Anna Alioto, Lexi Bumby and Kelsey Whittet scored goals against Parkview with Carrie Levy earning the shutout with eight saves.

Carmen Boessen had goals in the 45th and 49th minutes to build 2-1 advantage against Glendale, but the Falcons netted a tying goal in the 72nd minute then scored in the first 5 minutes of overtime to win.

Bumby and Caroline Trecha, who had been brought up from the JV for the tournament, scored goals against Jackson with Stephanie Monticelli earning the shutout with eight saves.

Rock Bridge (5-3) plays next Tuesday at Quincy, Ill.
