Hickman track team earns top finishes

The Hickman track and field teams performed well at the Capitol City Relays on Saturday in Jefferson City with the girls team finishing third out of 13 teams and the boys team finishing fifth out of 15 teams.

Sarah Hall won the shot put (42-1) and the discus (120-3) for the Kewpies girls team, while Victoria Jackson won the long jump (17-6 1/2). Hickman also won the girls 4 X 400-meter relay, with sisters Taaylor and Nasia Stevenson combining efforts with Jamela Kimbrough and Corey Potter to run a 4:08 in the race.

The boys team got firsts from Dominic Price who won the 300-meter hurdles in 40.1 and its distance relay team (Devin Sander, Jimmie Garth, Seth O'Laughlin and Zach Lynn) which won in 10:42.
