Earth Day Festival postponed because of rain

Saturday, April 24, 2010 | 5:36 p.m. CDT; updated 10:15 a.m. CDT, Tuesday, April 27, 2010

COLUMBIA — The 2010 Earth Day Festival scheduled for Sunday has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The event has been pushed back a week to May 2, the scheduled rain date. Organizer Mark Haim said rain overnight would leave the park too wet for the activities planned.

Because of rescheduling, organizers are looking for volunteers to replace those who cannot work on the rain date. Those interested in volunteering can contact Haim at 875-0539 or mail@columbiaearthday.org.
