COLUMBIA — Parking lots at six Columbia parks will be getting spruced up starting this week, according to a Columbia Parks and Recreation news release.

Along with parking lot improvements, Parks and Recreation will also be repaving and repairing roads.

The parks include Albert-Oakland Park, Atkins Park, Cosmo Park, L.A. Nickell Golf Course, Rock Quarry Park and Stephens Lake Park.

The improvements are estimated to cost $110,000, which will be funded by the 2005 Park Sales Tax.

Although park staff has scheduled the work to minimize impacts for park users, visitors should watch for signs that direct around the work sites.

Immediate updates on improvements can be found at the department's website.
