ST. LOUIS — A division of the St. Louis-based utility Ameren Corp. is reducing its staff by 75 full-time positions.

Ameren Energy Resources Co. LLC is the merchant generation business segment of Ameren Corp. It said Monday it will cut staff at several power plants and support service facilities in Illinois and Missouri.

Those being laid off will include both management and union-represented workers.

The job cuts and other spending reductions are expected to reduce net expenses by about $20 million in 2010. The division cut 135 positions last year.
