COLUMBIA — Columbia will host a dual groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting ceremony for three different road projects at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The three projects include: Mexico Gravel Road extension, Vandiver Drive extension and Upper Hinkson Creek sewer project.

The Mexico Gravel Road expansion is a 3,900-foot project including reconstruction of Mexico Gravel Road from Vandiver Drive to Route PP. A roundabout, new sidewalks on both sides of the street and bike lanes will be included. The cost is $4.4 million, and construction begins this month.

The Vandiver Drive project, stretching from Mexico Gravel Road to Vandiver Drive, is already completed and also includes new roundabouts, new sidewalks and bike lanes.

The Upper Hinkson Creek sewer project was completed at the same time, replacing an 18-inch gravity sewer line.
