Hickman boys track team win high school district, girls take second place

Kewpies qualify in 29 events for sectional championships

The Hickman boys high school track team repeated as district champions, while the girls repeated as runners-up.

The Kewpies boys team accumulated 139 points to edge Jefferson City, which had 131 points. The Kewpies won the same event last year.

The girls track team posted 123 points for second place. Jefferson City won the division with 139 points.

Kewpies boys qualified for the sectional championships in 16 events, including four district champions: 

100m - Evan Smith (2), Wesley Leftwich* (4)

200m - Evan Smith (3)

400m - Marcus Whitt (3)

800m - Jimmie Garth (4)

1600m - Devin Sander (4)

3200m - Zach Lynn (1)

110m hurdles - Kyle Asbury (3), Darius Wright (4)

300m hurdles - Dominic Price (1)

Long jump - Wesley Leftwich* (2)

Pole vault - Nate Little (4)

Discus - Josh German (4)

Shot Put - Josh German (2)

4 x 100m - Wesley Leftwich, Dominic Price, Evan Smith, Brad Chandler (1)*

4 x 200m - Wesley Leftwich,* Dominic Price, Marcus Whitt, Evan Smith (1)

4 x 400m - Jimmie Garth, Dominic Price, Chase Baxter, Keith Kimbrough (3)

4 x 800m - Devin Sander, Daniel Lindaman, Luke Ragsdell, William Starks (4)

200m - Jamela Kimbrough (3)

400m - Nasia Stevenson (1)

1600m - Nicole Mello (2)

100m hurdles - Victoria Jackson (2)

Long jump - Victoria Jackson (1)

Triple jump - Dina Rodelson (4)

Discus - Sarah Hall (1)

Shot put - Sarah Hall (1)

Pole vault - Galit Rudelson (2)

4 x 100m - Jamela Kimbrough, Victoria Jackson, Justina Olisah, Taalor Stevenson (1)

The sectional championships are set for 11 a.m. Saturday in Lebanon.
