DOVER, Del. — Kyle Busch won the Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway on Sunday a day after he won the Nationwide Series race.
Busch just missed a tripleheader sweep on the one-mile concrete track. He was in position to win the Trucks Series race on Friday but ran out of gas at the end.
On Sunday, Busch swapped the lead with Jimmie Johnson throughout most of the 400-mile race. Johnson, the four-time defending Cup champion, was hit with a late penalty for speeding on pit road and finished 16th.
Jeff Burton was second and Matt Kenseth third. Denny Hamlin and David Reutimann rounded out the top five.
Columbia native Carl Edwards finished eighth and moved up one place in the point standings to 10th.
