Rock Bridge golfers claim second at state tournament

Rock Bridge finished second Tuesday at the boys golf state tournament, beating third-place DeSmet in a tiebreaker.

Rockhurst won the championship at Sedalia Country Club with a 616 two-day, 36-hole total. The Bruins were scored at 620 and the Spartans at 621.

Wilson Sundvold led Rock Bridge, finishing in a three-way tie for eighth at 149 (74-75). Hickman's Taylor Cox, who qualified for the meet as a individual, finished in a two-way tie for 11th at 150 (73-77).

Tyler Kolb was the Bruins' next highest finisher, in a seven-way tie for 26th at 155. Teammate Scott Skrabal finished in a four-way tie for 33rd at 156.

Blue Springs Ryan Buerk was medalist at 143.
