COLUMBIA — A flash flood watch for Boone County will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. and last through Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
Heavy rainfall overnight and into Thursday will bring between one and two inches of rain by Friday, said Julie Phillipson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
With soil saturated from the three inches of rain in the last nine days, runoff might add to the already high water levels in local streams, creeks and rivers.
The weather service encourages people in the watch area to be prepared for the possibility of a flash flood. To get updates on road conditions, go to showmeboone.com.
