Columbia pools open for the season on June 5

COLUMBIA — The Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will be open over Memorial Day weekend from noon to 6 p.m on Saturday,  Sunday and May 31.

All other city pools are scheduled to open for the summer on June 5.

After the holiday weekend, the Albert-Oakland facility will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. on weekends through Aug. 20.

Admission is free for children age 1 and under, $2.50 for children age 2 to 15, and $3.75 for age 16 and older at Lake of the Woods, Albert-Oakland and Little Mates Cove at Pirates' Landing. At Douglass Family Aquatic Center, admission is free for anyone age 1 and under and $1 for anyone age 2 and older. 

Coupon books good for 20 visits are available for $37.50 for youth and $56.25 for adults. Season passes are $220 for families, $115 for adults and $70 for children. Coupon books can be used at any of the aquatic facilities except the ARC.

Other pool hours are as follows:

  • Lake of the Woods: Open June 5 to Aug. 8 from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday; and from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. It is located at 6700 St. Charles Road.
  • Douglass Family Aquatic Center: Open June 5 to Aug. 15 from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It is located at 400 N. Providence Road.
  • Little Mates Cove: Open June 5 to Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It is located at 2500 Chapel Hill Road.
