COLUMBIA — Boone County Sheriff's deputies found a man with head injuries at 3 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Gregory Drive and Oakland Gravel Road, Detective Tom O'Sullivan said.

He is being treated at University Hospital, O'Sullivan said, and his current medical condition is unknown. The department declined to release the man’s name.

Neighbors called in with reports of loud voices and breaking glass, O’Sullivan said.  Medics arrived on the scene and found him stumbling in the street. The man couldn't say how he hurt his head, O'Sullivan said, but before medics arrived at the scene, he told family members he had been assaulted.

No information on possible suspects had been found by detectives, O'Sullivan said.
