COLUMBIA — Though the autopsy of the 35-year-old man who drowned in Stephens Lake on Monday evening is now complete, reasons for his drowning remain unclear.

Police identified the man as Jean Magabokenda, but according to his wife, his name was Jean Marie Vianey Mugabo-Kenda.

“We’re investigating whether he may have had a seizure,” said medical examiner Ariel Goldschmidt.

Aside from this possibility, Mugabo-Kenda looked healthy, Goldschmidt said. Follow-up tests will be conducted before any conclusions are made.
