Arson dogs travel to Boone County for recertification

The three-day recertification event is sponsored by State Farm Insurance. Handlers and their dogs must recertify every year.

COLUMBIA – This week, individuals and their canines traveled from as far as Hawaii and Maine to participate in the three-day arson dog recertification event at the Boone County Fire Protection District's burn tower.

The pairs of investigators are required to recertify every year. There are three events held periodically throughout the year at different locations.
