SEDGEWICKVILLE — The cause of a fire that killed a southeast Missouri man remains under investigation.

The Southeast Missourian reports that firefighters were called at 3:48 a.m. Friday to a home near Sedgewickville. The victim, 32-year-old Norman Ferguson of Poplar Bluff, was found dead in the rear of the log cabin-style home. His name has not been released.

Three others were able to escape. Marble Hill Fire Chief Jim Bollinger said the four worked at a wood products mill during the week and returned to Poplar Bluff on weekends.
