In a very defensive and physical game, both teams were held scoreless in the first half.

Anna Alioto scored unassisted for the Lady Bruins late in the second half with 13:42 left in regulation.

But Pattonville answered back a couple minutes later, and then took the lead with 2:11 left to win the match.

“We won a lot of balls in the air, but unfortunately we got the first ones rather than the second ones,” said coach Marc VanDover. “We did a lot of hard work for Pattonville.”

Rock Bridge will play Cor Jesu Academy for third place Saturday at 1 p.m.

VanDover said that while the third-place game is a tough one to play, his team will still be out there and many of the seniors will be on the field for their last game.

“Belief and pride were two things we talked about this year,” he said. “Because of those, we still looked pretty awesome.”
