COLUMBIA — Missing attorney Richard W. "Rick" French has been found in Tennessee, the Columbia Police Department announced in a news release.

The release stated French was unharmed.

A family member contacted police Saturday evening to say French had been located in Tennessee, which the department later confirmed. Police said French was not the victim of foul play and did not release any more details in the release.

French, an attorney with the Cole County Public Defender's office in Jefferson City, was reported missing Wednesday morning after he failed to show up for an 11 a.m. trial in Cole County. He had called in Tuesday to take the day off, according to a previous Missourian report.
