UM vice president tapped for state education position

COLUMBIA — David Russell, senior associate vice president of the University of Missouri System, has been appointed to be the state's interim commissioner of higher education, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Higher Education.

His appointment will be effective July 1. He will replace retiring Commissioner Robert Stein.
