Boone County flash flood watch until Monday afternoon

Sunday, June 13, 2010 | 12:13 p.m. CDT

 COLUMBIA — A severe thunderstorm watch has been posted for Boone County until 4 p.m. Sunday. In addition, a flash flood watch remains in effect until Monday afternoon.

Several thunderstorms are expected to produce rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches.

The excessive runoff from the heavy rainfall could lead to the flash flooding of low lying areas near streams and creeks and rises in local rivers. To get updates on road conditions, go to
