Alden- As we looked at this you're taking the pie- and the pie is going to increase with new bowl and tv revenue b/c it will divide by 10

Forsee- This is a broader statewide issue.

...strengthened by the the ten institutions recommitting to the big 12.

Deaton- We value all colleagues and engage in research with them. We have engaged in faculty exchanges across the Big 12- forsees this being

Forsee- We are part of a Big 12 conference with incredible academic and research standing.

Deaton- Wanted to ensure that MU was effectively positioned.

Forsee- "No- it's just not that way." In regards to Texas automatically getting the exit fees.

Alden- There won't be one person making that decision. It's a league decision.

...including the $20 million exit fees speculated to be coming from Nebraska and Colorado

Deaton- Money that comes into the conference is shaped by conference policy and it will shape any money coming in...

Deaton- We were prepared to address issues if more teams would have chosen to leave the Big 12 conference but didn't have to.

Deaton- Money that comes into the conference is shaped by conference policy and it will shape any money coming in...

...but they chose to stay was good to hear.

...didn't know the announcement would be happening. It was a cause to celebrate. Knowing there could be an opportunity for Texas to leave...

Alden- Yesterday the monthly coaches meeting occurred at 4 p.m. Around 5 p.m. Texas announced they were remaining in the Big 12...

Forsee- The conference now has more flexibility to decide how revenue is split.

Deaton- The same revenue distribution formula applies. But there will always be a review by the board.

Deaton- What the 5 institutions did was agree to a broad amendment of the bylaws so the conference can approach this on an incentive basis.

Deaton- We do feel valued by the Big 12 athletically and academically.

Alden- There is no accuracy to a $20 million buyout from Colorado & Nebraska going to University of Texas. There are no concessions.

Forsee- There is not an official contract- the remaining ten universities remaining are working off a trust.

Forsee- Chancellors and presidents met in KC a few weeks ago to lay some ground rules. "This is a word and a trust" between the remaining 10

Deaton- "We're committed to the Big 12 for the foreseeable future."

Deaton- There is always the option and expectation that additional funds could be used academically or athletically.

Deaton: Given the dynamics and volatility of the conference realignment the University of Missouri felt staying in the Big 12 is....

financially responsible, best for fans and will keep traditions and rivalries intact. Revenues have the potential to be the 2nd highest...

...in the nation. Kansas City is a new hot bed for college sports and don't want to disrupt that. MU system has 20 athletic programs.

...but did not feel misled when Big Ten did not extend an offer to MU.

Forsee: From our perspective in May, we weren't going to feed the speculation. Whatever the Big Ten process was they made an offer to...

...Nebraska and it was accepted. We are very pleased with this outcome. Don't want to speculate on what could have happened with the Big Ten

Alden: Hasn't analyzed non-conference scheduling. But now only three non-conference games and nine conference games.

Deaton- Wanted to ensure that MU was effectively positioned.
