COLUMBIA — Boone County Fire Protection District firefighters are holding a car wash Saturday to benefit Keith Null, a fellow firefighter who was injured in a two-car collision May 24.

Null was in critical condition at University Hospital for more than a week following the accident and moved to the Rusk Rehabilitation Center last week.

The car wash is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fire Station 12, 980 S. El Chaparral Ave., according to a news release.

The fire station will also host a community blood drive from noon to 8 p.m June 28. The blood drive is "a way to give back to the American Red Cross and say thank you to all of those who have given the gift of life through blood donations," the release stated.
