Marine from Park Hills dies in Afghanistan

PARK HILLS — A 29-year-old Marine from eastern Missouri has died in Afghanistan.

The Park Hills Daily Journal reported that Lance Cpl. Michael Bailey of Park Hills died Wednesday while supporting combat operations in Helmand province. He was shot.

Bailey was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
