COLUMBIA — Zac LaHue applies finishing touches to a flower arrangement at My Secret Garden, a florist in downtown Columbia, on Saturday. This arrangement will be a Father's Day gift and features delphiniums, hydrangeas and other flowers with vibrant colors. Primary and secondary colors, such as blue and orange, are seen as more masculine than pastels, and the color palate of most Father's Day arrangements is composed of these colors, said Ruth LaHue, owner of My Secret Garden. Flowers are a popular gift for Mother's Day, but My Secret Garden receives about one-tenth as many orders on Father's Day, she said.
