$15,000 worth of copper wire stolen from warehouse

COLUMBIA — Copper wire worth $15,000 was stolen from a vacant warehouse at 1391 Boone Industrial Drive.

The theft was reported at 1:45 p.m. Thursday but believed to have occurred some time within the last three weeks, Boone County sheriff's Detective Tom O'Sullivan said.

There were no signs of forced entry into the building, but suspects might have entered through an overhead door. O'Sullivan said there are no leads at this point.

O'Sullivan said Atkins Inc. owns the warehouse.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Crimestoppers at 573-875-8477.
