Shots fired at Hinkson Avenue and William Street

COLUMBIA —  Shots were fired in the Hinkson Avenue and William Street area from one or two vehicles at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Police are investigating the area, while calls continue to come in of shots fired in the Hinkson Avenue area, as well as atWilkes Boulevard and Rangeline Street and at Fourth Avenue and Pecan Street.

There are no reported injuries.

The vehicles have tentatively been described as a red car and silver truck, according to the release.

Police advised people to stay away from the area and to call the police department at 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477 with information about the vehicles or people involved in this disturbance.
