COLUMBIA — During City Manager Bill Watkins' biweekly news update at 9:30 a.m. Friday, he reminded residents that next week's City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday rather than Monday because of Independence Day.

During the meeting, H3 Studio plans to give a presentation of its downtown planning charrette. The council will not make any decisions regarding the charrette, Watkins said. The presentation is a chance for the public to see the plan.

The council will hold public hearings on three items of business:

No new business is on the agenda for the meeting.

Thumper Entertainment plans to talk about the Roots 'N' Blues 'N' BBQ Festival during the pre-council meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.
