ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has received a commitment for a $2 million endowment gift from the Mabel Dorn Reeder Foundation.

The orchestra said Thursday it will recognize the contribution by establishing the Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair, awarded on merit every five years to a symphony musician. That award will include a one-time, $10,000 stipend for the recipient, to be used for professional development.
