JEFFERSON CITY— A central Missouri man has been killed after his truck crashed over a bridge embankment and into a creek.

KRCG-TV reported Thursday that a pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Mitchell Berendzen of Eugene went off U.S. Highway 63 near Jefferson City and into a creek.

Missouri State Water Patrol divers retrieved Berendzen's body while the truck was still submerged in 22 feet of water. He was the only person in the truck.
