Missourian will publish letters, guest column ahead of Aug. 3 primary election

The Missourian will publish letters and guest columns regarding the Aug. 3 primary elections at no cost.

Voters will choose who will fill seats in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Missouri General Assembly and the Boone County Commission. Other items on the ballot include county races for circuit and associate circuit judge, clerk, collector, clerk of circuit court, prosecuting attorney, recorder and treasurer.

Letters must be received by July 30. The last day for letters to appear in print is Aug. 1. The last day for letters to appear at ColumbiaMissourian.com is Aug. 2.

All letters will run online at ColumbiaMissourian.com. Every effort will be made to publish them in the print Missourian by Aug. 2.

Anonymous letters will not be accepted. Please include a daytime telephone number and address with your letter for verification purposes. We will not publish your address or phone number, but we will publish a general description of where each writer resides.

Letters generally run around 400-500 words. Longer pieces will be considered for guest columns.
