COLUMBIA — Yet another former Missouri wrestler is trying his hand at mixed martial arts.

Mark Ellis won the 2009 NCAA Division I heavyweight title as a Missouri junior. Ellis has now signed a contract with one of the top MMA talent agencies and will train in northern California.

He follows 2008 Olympian and two-time NCAA champion wrestler Ben Askren, who has become a rising star in mixed martial arts.

Former Missouri wrestler Tyron Woodley has also moved from the wrestling mat to the MMA ring known as the octagon.
