Dr. C. Zoe Smith and James W. Sigler were married July 2, 2010, at Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia.

Dr. C. Zoe Smith and James W. Sigler were married July 2, 2010, at Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia. The Rev. Keith Vessell performed the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Clara Mae Lasky of Sun City Center, Fla., and the late Wilbur G. Smith of Elizabethtown, Pa., and the late Dr. John W. and Mrs. H. Lucille Sigler of Bloomfield Village, Mich.

The bride was attended by maid of honor Claudia Ann Smith, sister of the bride, of Atlanta. The flower girl was Asia Ellingsworth, granddaughter of the groom, of Rolla.

The groom was attended by Dr. Robert E. Sigler, brother of the groom, of Saline, Mich. The groomsmen were Tyson and Wynn Sigler, sons of the groom, of Palatine, Ill.

The bride, a 1970 graduate of Burrell Senior High School in Lower Burrell, Pa., received a Ph.D. in visual communication from the University of Iowa in Iowa City in 1983. She is a professor emerita of the Missouri School of Journalism.

The groom, a 1967 graduate of Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Mich., received a degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., in 1978. On July 1 he celebrated his 25th anniversary of working at KMST-FM, a National Public Radio station on the Rolla campus where he now is the producer and host of "Sounds Eclectic."

A reception followed in the church parlor. The couple plan to honeymoon at the end of the year. They will reside in Columbia when the groom retires from full-time work at KMST-FM this fall.
