COLUMBIA — Approximately 20 novice amateur and youth horse riders showed their horses at the Midway Exposition Center last weekend, according to the show secretary, Janice Klenke. The judges watched over 40 rounds of classes from inside the ring where the horses performed on different levels. Participants were judged based on their presentation alongside their horses. The American Quarter Horse Association and the Missouri Quarter Horse Association sponsored the event, which lasted from Saturday until Sunday. Klenke said two belt buckles — valued at $150 each — and four horse trophies were given as prizes on Sunday.
