Hunter orientation and registration sessions start in August

COLUMBIA — Three hunter orientation and registration sessions will be held in August. Anyone who wants to bow hunt deer on city property as part of the deer management program must attend one session.

City hunting permits will only be issued during these sessions. To attend, register online.

The hour-long sessions are free to the public and will be at the Activity and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St.

Bow hunting this year will be permitted in two seasons: Sept. 15 to Nov. 12 and Nov. 24 to Jan. 15 at nine locations.

The orientation and registration session times are as follows:

• Saturday, Aug. 21, at 8:30 a.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 3 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m.
