All 163 members of the state House and half of the 34-member Senate are up for election. But many of those races were decided in Tuesday's primary election.

In the Senate, three Republicans and two Democrats faced no opposition or only a primary challenge in their election contests. Two other Republicans and one Democrat emerged from primaries and now face only a Libertarian or Constitution Party challenger.

Nearly half the state House seats were uncontested races or essentially decided during Tuesday's primary.

Complete but unofficials results showed three current House members lost their re-election bids in the primary.
