COLUMBIA — A trailer off Highway VV was damaged in a fire around 4 a.m. Friday morning.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Deputy Chief Scott Olsen said that the fire was in a trailer intended for future use as a classroom and that damages totaled about $50,000. The flames came through the roof of the educational trailer.

Olsen said he didn't know the name of the company that owned the trailer.

There were no injuries in the fire, and no other trailers were affected.
