Visitations were Sunday for accident victims

ST. JAMES — People in two Missouri communities have turned out in huge numbers to pay their respects to the families of the victims of last week's Interstate 44 accident.

Visitations were Sunday in St. James for 15-year-old Jessica Brinker and in Sullivan for 19-year-old Daniel Schatz. Both died Thursday when the school bus Brinker was in and the pickup driven by Schatz were involved in a horrific crash on I-44 near Gray Summit.

The accident happened when a semi cab slowed for road construction and was struck by Schatz's pickup. Two buses carrying high school band students from St. James to Six Flags then slammed into the wreck.
