KANSAS CITY, Mo.  — Camp Snoopy is getting an upgrade to Planet Snoopy at Worlds of Fun.

The amusement park in Kansas City announced Monday that it plans a $5 million makeover of the area dedicated to younger children.

The Kansas City Star reports that the park plans to add six rides, including a balloon tower ride, car and truck rides for small children and a spinning tugboat ride to the area. The changes will create more than 20 rides, shows and attractions at Planet Snoopy.

Work is expected to be completed in 2011.

Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are owned by Cedar Fair, a chain of amusement and water parks based in Ohio.
