The Daniel Boone Little League American All-Stars fell to 1-2 in pool play on Monday at the Midwest Regional Tournament in Indianapolis after a 7-1 loss to Grandview Little League of Iowa.

Iowa did most of its damage in the second inning, scoring five runs with two outs. Daniel Boone Little League scored its only run on a solo home run by Alex Jones in the bottom of the sixth.

“We played very well today,” head coach Greg Kespohl said by phone. “We got some base runners, but we just haven’t been able to get the timely hit and they were in the second inning.”

Daniel Boone Little League continues play at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Nebraska’s Kearny Little League. They need a win to advance to the semifinals on Thursday.
