Council backs Grant's Farm as national park

CLAYTON — A plan under consideration to turn Grant's Farm into a national park gets the support of the St. Louis County Council.

KMOX Radio reports the council voted unanimously Tuesday to support a takeover of the site by the U.S. National Park Service. Several members of the audience at the hearing also spoke in favor of the plan.

Grant's Farm is owned by the Busch family and has long been a popular attraction that features a variety of animals.

Congress would have to approve takeover of the property as a national park.
