COLUMBIA — Authorities think a trio of burglaries committed in northwest Columbia early Wednesday morning might be connected.

Surveillance cameras at Columbia Wholesale Autos, located at 1270 E. Boone Industrial Blvd., captured photos of a man carrying a rod as he broke into the building around 3 a.m., according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Police think the man was searching for keys to vehicles. However, nothing was reported stolen.

The department suspects the man is also involved in two nearby burglaries at Jolley's Auto, located at 5711 Missouri 763 N., and at the garage of a home near the intersection of Highway VV and Mauller Road. Nothing was reported taken from either of these locations.

The suspect had light-colored hair and was in his late teens to early twenties, the release said.

Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
