KANSAS CITY — A 52-year-old man accused of raping four women in the mid-1980s will go to court next July.

The Kanas City Star reports that attorneys and the judge agreed Friday on a July 18, 2011, trial date for Bernard Jackson. Jackson is charged with 18 felony counts, including robbery, rape and sodomy. Police have said DNA evidence links him to the decades-old attacks.

Authorities also have called Jackson a person of interest in five rapes in Kansas City's Waldo neighborhood from September 2009 through February. Nobody has been charged in any of those assaults.

Jackson has spent most of his adult life in prison for sexual assaults, starting in 1977 when he was 19.
